Stroke Mechanics

The Sigma Stroke Mechanics tiers are comprised of our developing talent. Most swimmers who are members of Tiers 3, 4, and 5 have been swimming for at least 1-2 years, are still developing their aerobic base, are learning how to achieve race pace in practice, and most importantly, have stroke technique improvement as their top priority.

Most Tier 3, 4, and 5 swimmers have caught the "swimming bug" and look forward to swim practice. In addition to swimming, these swimmers may also be involved in other sports and extracurricular activities. Nevertheless, whenever they come to swim, they are enthusiastic.

Tier 3, 4, and 5 Swimmers:

Are on time for practice
Enthusiastically attend a minimum of 2-3 practice sessions per week
Are learning all of the correct kicking and stroke drills
Seek the knowledge of their peers and mentors
Accept criticism from both peers and coaches
Are beginning to understand the value of their percent effort charts
Consistently use the tools and learning aids provided
